Growing my own vegetables has been a joy. These 4 raised beds have most commonly hosted tomatoes, greens, squash, and radishes. These were built to be easily repairable; the side panels unscrew and the wood can all be replaced. They're designed to have the minimum amount of wood in contact with the soil for longevity.

Over the years, this back yard has shifted between being a place for entertaining and a place for relaxing and hosting. Plenty of space for garden parties. Plenty of room for planting the garden of your dreams. Plenty of room for your pets to get some sunshine.

The mature trees that line the back yard are Somebody Else's Financial Responsibility, but they sure do make it feel like you're living someplace more remote. Wait until you experience the rain on the trees from under the gazebo.

Somehow, installing LED lighting along the stairway seems to make the stairs a focal point of the house, as well as ensuring safe passage in the dark. They're currently set to red.

Adding in those LED lights really makes this stairway look kinda cool, I think. At the very least, it makes it easier to see!

This is my favorite bedroom. Two windows and a door give this room SUCH a BEAUTIFUL breeze. When it rains, it feels a bit like you're in a treehouse. The ceiling tiles were stained when I moved in; I always planned to install pressed tin tiles, but didn't get around to it. If you end up doing that, I want PHOTOS!!!

In this room, you can peek under the vinyl floor covering in the closet and see the wood floors beneath it. I found the vinyl floors pretty charming and easy to take care of, but I recognize the resale value of wood floors.

Look, there's a lot of ways that this bathroom can be updated. Personally, I LIKE the black and white tiles. It's simple, understated, and very functional.

This hallway is cleverly designed to maximize the space in the rooms, while still having normal-sized doors.

This room gets the least light, but it's also the best insulated from sound (great for sleeping!) and has the best closet in my opinion. The ceiling fan is surprisingly full of features. I lived in this room for 7 years.

I am SO proud of this roof. It's a standing seam metal roof (which is the gold-standard in my opinion), and it has been meticulously cleaned, maintained, and coated with GacoRoof, a product with a 50-year warranty. GacoRoof is 100% silicone, and it is designed to be a durable long-lasting waterproofing solution for roofs that "pond". I am SO proud of the work we did on this roof. And if something happens to it, more GacoRoof can simply be applied on top. I'm impressed with this product.
Basement: boiler, hot water heater, and oil tank
This is the guts of the house: the oil burner heats the water for the radiators. The radiators provide GREAT heat. The hot water heater was replaced in 2020.

There's a Facebook group for Washington Street, where we planned a street festival and share information with each other.
